my new toys

My new toys has several purposes.. They keep my feet warm, they keep my socks clean, they look good AND most importantly they are fun to play with. Already I have discovered that if you pull the white cord you get a longer white cord that I am able to put into my mouth.. YUM !

More parties

On Friday my friend Alex had his birthday party at Billy Lids. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the party cause I was sick. Even after a big morning sleep I still wasn't feeling well and so spent the afternoon on the couch : - (

BUT, the good news is that another one of my friends, Abi. had her birthday party on Sunday. Not only was there a playground, there was a mini train to ride on and pony rides as well. Mummy, Daddy, Zach and I all squeezed into a train carriage but there was no way that I was going to get onto the pony. After everyone had finished their rides it was time for birthday cake. I even managed to sit next to Abi so that I could help her with all of the important tasks such as blowing out the candles, taking the candles out and eating the smarties off the top of the cake !

Up close and personal

Although I wasn't feeling very well today it was such a lovely day that we thought we would visit the zoo. So, after both Zach and I had a two hour morning nap we headed to the zoo. When mum gave our ticket to the man at the gate he told me that the new Orang-utan exhibit was open today!! Just what I needed to make me feel better. The Orang-utan's have a huge new space to play in complete with ropes, bamboo, baskets and water and they are able to walk right up next to the glass. I can't wait to tell Uncle Mick about the Orang-utan's new house and convince him that he should come down and see it straight away. Bella and Eloise may even love it nearly as much as Uncle Mick.

While at the zoo we also visited the butterfly house, which I think is Zachary's favorite place. The butteflies loved sitting on Zach's pram toy and had fun teasing him by flying away when he put his hand out to touch them.

Hope you all enjoy the zoo as much a we do.

Mr Snake has hair!!

A little while ago you may remember me telling you about Mr Snake and Mr Poppet... Well, over the last week Mr Snake has grown lots and lots of hair. So much hair that I think Daddy and I will need to give him a hair cut very soon. But, poor Mr Poppet, or should I say Mr Baldy. Mr Baldy has only a couple of hairs, in fact I can count the number of hairs that he has - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 !!!! I hope Mr Baldy grows some more hair soon...

Milla's Dance Party

The birthday girl (unfortunately not feeling well)

On Saturday we went to Milla's dance party. We didn't know what to expect because the only dance party we knew was Dorothy's Dance Party (from The Wiggles). But we are happy to report that it was lots of fun - there was lots of dancing, games to play, yummy cakes, balls, balloons, presents, music, cuddles from Milla's Nanna, face painting and lots and lots of other kids to play with. Then when nearly everyone had gone home our Daddy arrived (he had been at work) and we stayed for dinner and a bath and then dressed in some of Milla's pajamas before coming home. If you would like to see more photos from Milla's party you can go to her blog by clicking on the link at the right hand side of the screen.

Nanna cuddles are the best !

Brrmmm, Brrrmmm

On Tuesday we had our new couch delivered to our house. It's big and comfy; both essential attributes for some serious tv watching. Anyway, another advantage of a new couch is the packaging that it comes in.. Today while Zach was sleeping mum helped me make my very own car. We still have some painting to do and some accessories to add but I already love it and wanted to share it with everyone straight away..

Lunch with Daddy

Our daddy has been working very hard lately and sometimes very long hours. To cheer him up today we went to have a picnic lunch with him in the park around the corner from his work. Daddy was only able to stay for an hour but we managed to fit lots of things into this hour. Eating sprinkle sandwiches, playing on the swings and slides, running on the grass, finding fairies in the grass and of course, lots of giggles and cuddles.

Once Daddy went back to work we decided that because we were so close to the Museum we would go there for a little while. It had been ages since we were there so we both found heaps of fun things to do. Our favorite things were playing with hoops, checking crawling techniques in the mirrors and dressing up in the fish tails. Love Amelia & Zach

No money please..

A little giggle escaped from Daddy's mouth one night when he was reading his father's day book - "Memoirs of a Rookie Parent" by Andrew Voss. Daddy was reading about kids who love to ride the little cars/merry go rounds/horses etc which are often located in shopping centres and have pictures of The Wiggles/Bananas in pajamas/Play School/Hi5/Sesame Street to get our attention. Andrew Voss wrote about his kids always wanting to play on these rides and how he never had any money left in his pocket after visiting a shopping centre because it went into these rides. He stated that if you had a child who was content to sit in the car/on the merry go round etc without wanting a ride you should consider yourself lucky.. Well, my mummy and daddy are very lucky!! But that's not to say that they have money left in their pockets; there is always ice cream....

Enjoying the sunshine

Hi Everyone,

It has been a little while since my last blog. I have been busy teaching myself how to crawl... I'm not quite there yet but sooooooooo very close. Being able to crawl (well commando crawl at the moment) is fun because I can now go on little adventures all by myself. Today I ventured into Amelia's room for a play with her farm and puppets and then I went into my room to play under my change table. I love being able to move myself around and discover all of the places that mummy and daddy have been hiding from me.

As well as the crawling thing I have been busy growing some teeth and practicing my "mum mums" and "da das".. Sometimes I can even sit up by myself for a little while, but at the moment my favorite thing would have to be learning to crawl. Although, a swing in the park is a close second!!

Love to all, Zach x

Grasshead.

On Sunday Daddy and I went to one of my favorite shops - Bunnings!! We got some grass seeds for our back yard and when we got home I got to help Daddy makes holes into the ground and sprinkle the seeds. When we had finished this Daddy got some socks out of his drawer, some textas and some other bits and pieces and we then put some grass seeds and dirt into the
socks !!! Daddy told me that I need to water Mr Poppet and Mr Ssssssss every day and that after a while they might grow some hair... Lets wait and see..

Tennis anyone?

On Saturday Zach and I dressed in our best tennis clothes and went with Mummy to play tennis with her work people. I wasn't really sure whether it would be much fun but when I arrived there were kids to play with, bubbles to blow, lolly pops and chips to eat, lemonade to drink, a playground close by AND little tennis racquets for me to play tennis too!! To make the day even better my Mummy somehow managed to win all of her matches and win a prize for being the best female player.. Go Mum !!

More presents...

Last week for my birthday my Aunty Shannon sent down (on the star plane) a present for me with Nanny. It was some money, $20 !!!!! WOW. Today Mummy took me shopping so that I could buy some new things with the money, I had sooooo much fun looking at kids stuff and trying to decide what to buy. It was a hard decision but I finally took my $20 and bought a new Dora movie and some ballet shoes. Thank you Aunty Shannon xx

Stealing Milla's man

Yesterday we all went to play at AJ & Milla's house. Apparently there was some important footy game on tv that everyone wanted to watch?? There were lots of people there yelling at the tv and sometimes even jumping up and down. I didn't watch any footy but I did have a great time playing with Milla and having a kick of the football in the park.

As there were soooo many people there I thought that yesterday would be a good chance for me to make my move on Macs (rumoured to be Milla's future husband). My dad didn't much like the idea of me hiding in the cupboard with Macs but I thought that it was fun.

Love Amelia

p.s. Mum said that I should write a little note to Milla to let her know that I am just joking about stealing Macs away.

Happy Birthday to me ??

This is a little confusing but today (not yesterday) was my Happy Birthday. Even though my party was yesterday, today was my real birthday. More presents, more cake and more special visitors; my Nan & Pop from Ulladulla. AND, I even had another birthday party to go to - my friend Jayda also turned 3 today and had a party at her house. I LOVE birthday parties and I LOVE playing with all of my new toys... as you can probably tell.

Love Amelia (the big 3 year old) x

My party

Planning a party sure is hard work... Since my last blog I have been busy helping Mummy and Daddy prepare for my birthday party. Everything from buying ingredients for party food, baking party food and cake, making thank you presents for my friends, cleaning my room, cutting the grass in the back yard and ensuring that my fairy dress is clean and ready for me to wear. Finally the big day arrived - a nice sunny day, a great day for a party!!

To start the day I awoke to see Nanny and Poppy peeping through my bedroom door. Nanny and Poppy had just arrived back from their visit to Darwin to see Aunty Shannon. They had traveled on the star plane back to Melbourne while I was sleeping and had arrived just in time for breakfast. After breakfast the preparations for the party begun - the cake was iced, the fairy bread was made, the lollies were put out AND best of all, Daddy brought home some special party balloons.

Around 12noon the door bell rang and in walked Bella & Eloise with lots of cuddles, kisses and presents.. Then all of a sudden the door bell rang again and again and again and my friends all arrived, with more presents.. It was sooooooo much fun having all of my friends at my house, especially since it was such a nice day and we all got to play outside on the swings and slide.

Soon it was time for the Happy Birthday song and best of all; the birthday cake! We even had time for blowing bubbles and some dancing to The Wiggles before everyone had to go home.

Hope everyone had as much fun as I did at my party.. Thanks for the presents - Amelia x

Tight spots

Now that I am moving alot more I now have the problem of getting myself into some tight spots where I just can't yet figure how to get out of them ???

The beach.

In between the cold rainy days there were some sunny days (at Ulladulla) so we decided that it would be fun to go to the beach. It wasn't hot enough to swim but we did have fun making sand castles, collecting shells, drawing in the sand and sometimes even eating the sand.... Here are a couple of Mums favourite photos from our beach visits.

Watch out Pop !!

While in Ulladulla we all went on a day trip with Nan & Pop to Nowra Wildlife Park. It was kind of like the zoo but a few different animals to look at so I decided that I should stay awake to see them all. There were some koalas, kangaroos, emus, cockies, horses, goats, geese, wombats, camels and donkeys and I had lots of fun watching Nan & Amelia feed them all with some special animal food. One animal that Nan & Amelia didn't feed though were the crocodiles. There were two crocodiles - John & Dawn. This is John behind me; he was very big!! Pop said that while in Darwin he saw crocodiles twice the size of John!!! I'm glad that I was getting some Pop cuddles while looking at John; I wasn't scared at all...
